Welcome to Dr Rael Salkinder, Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr Rael Salkinder is an orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in hip and knee surgery and a passion for helping patients regain both their mobility and self-confidence. Dr Salkinder completed his undergraduate training in medicine at the University of Cape Town. He worked at various hospitals throughout the country before completing his orthopaedic specialist training at Tygerberg Hospital. He graduated from the University of Stellenbosch cum laude in 2014. He has published a paper in the South African Orthopaedic Journal and presented research at the South African Orthopaedic Congress.
The Practice
Dr Rael Salkinder completed a six-month fellowship in knee arthroplasty and soft-tissue surgery under the guidance of Dr Pieter (Spike) Erasmus in Stellenbosch in 2014. During this time he gained extensive experience in primary and revision knee arthroplasty, ligament reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery. Patients value his warm, approachable manner, which helps put them at ease from the first consultation. Combined with his professionalism and strong clinical knowledge, Dr Salkinder offers a level of care that feels both reassuring and highly skilled.
